Come and try sailing –it’s free!

IT’S open house at Slaughden Sailing Club and Aldeburgh Yacht Club (AYC) on Sunday 5th May and Sunday 19th May respectively and everyone is invited to come and have some fun. This is a chance to try sailing and learn some new skills; experience the beautiful river Alde in a boat – under wind or engine power. Sailing is an activity that can be enjoyed at any age and many levels.

This is a nationwide Royal Yachting Association (RYA) initiative to encourage people to try their hand in a boat, be it a dinghy, a yacht, a kayak/canoe or a powerboat.  Qualified instructors and experienced sailors will show you the ropes and take you out on the water. There will be river trips in a launch giving passengers views of the estuary from a different perspective.  Light refreshments are also available in the friendly clubhouses.
