Olive Tree planted in Halesworth to mark COVID Day of Reflection

On Sunday 8th March Halesworth took part in the UK-wide Covid-19 Day of Reflection in commemoration and recognition of the loss that was endured during the Covid-19 pandemic. Halesworth Town Council sponsored a beautiful Olive tree, which was planted at the Halesworth Volunteers Office at the Patrick Stead Day Care Centre on the morning of the 8th March. An Olive tree is a sign of peace and a sapling at the start of the Covid pandemic in 2020. During the planting ceremony, Reverend Dominic Doble said a few words about remembering loved one’s who were lost and how the community joined together to support and protect its older and vulnerable members.
