Putting the Ale in Halesworth
Thanks to funding from East Suffolk Council and Halesworth Town Council, the new ‘Halesworth Ale Day’ is set to launch on Saturday 14th June. The event will explore Halesworth’s rich history as a former brewing town as well as championing Hospitality and showing visitors what Halesworth has to offer.
The day will provide visitors with guided tours of the former Blyth River Navigation and walks including a new ‘Ale Trail’ around the many past pub locations as well as the current ones. The Cut Arts Centre will be showing their Maltings film, providing talks and the Malt Experience exhibition and trail will be open to all. Adnams will be joining us for some interesting and informative talks about brewing. Local Brewery Tindalls are in the process of producing a special Halesworth Ale which will be available to purchase on the day from the town’s pubs, bars and licensed shops. Tindall Brewery will also be providing demos on the beer making process. The Tap Room will be putting on a beer festival.
There will be retro pub games competitions, fantastic live music, local food and entertainment throughout the Thoroughfare and Market Place. For the children, there will be crafts, storytelling, a town trail, games, street theatre and much more. The day after is Father’s Day of course so what better treat for Dad than a trip to the first Halesworth Ale Day!
