Suffolk County Music Service: Helping Young Musicians to Thrive

Suffolk County Music Service fully supports Ed Sheeran’s letter to the Government and the call for a UK wide £250 million Music Education package this spring.

Suffolk County Music Service remains dedicated to supporting schools and young people, both in delivering the national curriculum and in nurturing young instrumentalists within their settings. Our Music for Schools offer for 2025/26 has just been launched, ensuring that pupils in educational settings across Suffolk can continue to benefit from our high-quality music education provision.

We are committed to making music accessible to all—children eligible for remissions or free school meals can benefit from free instrument hire, half-price individual lessons, and reduced or free membership to all of our music groups.

We offer weekly musical activities across the county for children and young people, to take their playing to the next level. Beyond this, our more advanced young musicians are currently preparing for our residential course in two weeks’ time, culminating in a spectacular Easter Concert that will showcase the incredible talent nurtured within our service.

As we continue to flourish, we are excited to announce that we are relocating our administrative base to Martlesham next week, establishing a dedicated, standalone centre to further strengthen our support for schools, young people, and the wider community.

Suffolk County Music Service remains committed to inspiring and supporting the next generation of musicians, ensuring that music remains an integral and accessible part of education in our region.
