Bungay Folk Festival 2024

Bungay’s first ever Folk Festival will take place over the weekend of 6-8 September. The festival will be based around the town centre in various venues.

The Fisher Theatre is the information hub with St Marys Church, Trinity Church and the Three Tuns Cellar all involved as venues for live folk bands and dancing. All of the music and performances during the daytime on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th will be free to access.

We are pleased to welcome Radio 2 Folk Award winner Sam Kelly as our patron. Sam will be performing at The Fisher Theatre on Saturday 7th Sept as well as holding a song writing workshop.

Bristol based band ‘Solana’ will kick off the festival in the Fisher Theatre on Friday night. On Saturday evening you can enjoy the Norwich based Big Sky Choir and Will Power who will have a classical take on folk music in St Mary’s Church.

There is a folk picnic on Sunday afternoon by the castle. Bring your picnic and a blanket to sit on and enjoy an afternoon of music headlined by The Shackleton Trio.

On Sunday evening in the Community Centre there is a family ceilidh followed by a French bal. A few events are ticketed. It is also Heritage Open Days so there are lots of other activities to do between listening to the folk music. https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk
