Halesworth Dementia Carers’ Fund

Golf Day
On 30th May several members of the HDCF Committee met at the Golf Club to receive a cheque for £6,700 resulting from the golf competition. We are so grateful to Halesworth Golf Club, and to John Giles and Sara Higgins who worked so hard to make this happen. As reported last month, we are also grateful to all our sponsors, and all the very kind people who helped raise this figure. While some expenses need to come off we are still left with a magnificent amount that will go so far in helping us continue our work.

Annual General Meeting
We held our AGM on 10th June, with a good attendance, despite the weather.
The meeting began with a short talk given by David Fosdike and Karen Kerridge from Halesworth Health and Care, reporting on the progress converting the old Methodist Church into a care centre.
The meeting received several reports, including accounts for the year, and a report by our Chair, Nikki Sawkins, on the work of the Fund over the last year.
The following officers were voted in. Chair, Nikki Sawkins; Vice Chair, Nicky Kelly; Treasurer, Iris Smith; Secretary, Arlette Smith, aided by Consultant Secretary Dave Rich.
