New Guide and Ranger unit opening in Bungay

Girlguiding in Bungay is gearing up to introduce a brand-new Guide and Ranger unit, to meet the increasing interest in guiding activities among girls and young women in the local area. With the current Guide unit operating at nearly-full capacity, and no Ranger units in the local area, the arrival of this new group promises to open doors to more young individuals eager to join the amazing Girlguiding experience.

Opening after the Easter holidays, the new group will meet every Thursday evening during term time from 7:30 to 9:00 pm at the Guide Hall on King’s Road in Bungay. The Guide unit is open to girls and young women aged 10-14, and the Rangers is for those aged 14-18.

The group is holding a taster event on 18th April from 7:30-9pm, where you can come and find out more about the amazing opportunities Girlguiding has to offer.

Girlguiding is unique – it gives girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, try new things, help other people and discover their passions and talents. With experienced volunteers leading the group, the new unit will offer lots of fun activities, like outdoor adventures and learning new skills, as well as going on camps and trips and earning lots of badges!

“I’m super excited to join the Ranger unit. There will be so many amazing opportunities and things for me to do. I can’t wait to go camping this summer too- it will go towards the festival-goer badge!”

There are spaces for young people available in both the Guide and Ranger unit, plus we are always looking for new volunteers to join the fun and adventure that Girlguiding offers. From supporting with the accounts, to planning camps or coming along to the weekly meetings, there are lots of flexible volunteering opportunities available in Girlguiding Bungay.

So, as anticipation builds for the taster evening, 1st Bungay Guides and Rangers looks forward to welcoming a new group of enthusiastic girls and young women, ready to embark on an exciting journey of fun, friendship and adventure!
