HACT would like to welcome our new Driver Trainer, Chris Chapman, who joined us earlier this year to oversee the training of new drivers and refresher courses for existing drivers. Chris joins us from Southwold and is a driver and trainer for Sole Bay Community Bus.

What we would like now is to have more drivers come and join us to help deliver our regular services around Halesworth and Holton, as well as the many Community Hires we are asked to provide to a wide variety of destinations.

As Summer moves into Autumn there is always other demands on Drivers’ time, including holidays and family duties as children, and grandchildren return to school and college. Having several drivers, enables us to fulfil our regular schedules, and offer numerous local groups a chance to enjoy social activities near and far. We would especially like drivers who are happy to do late evening hires as many of these continue after midnight and can be difficult to resource. If you are still working and feel you can’t offer the time to drive the morning Hoppa, these weekend evening hires may be more to your liking.

To find out more about driving the Hoppa, either for the regular Schedule, or for one-off Community Hires please contact the office at Halesworth Area Community Transport, Railway Station, Station Road, Halesworth, Suffolk IP19 8BZ. Tel: 01986 875900. Email: office@hactbus.co.uk. Website: www.hactbus.co.uk.

And finally, remember that even though the Hoppa is a regular bus service for all, passengers can phone ahead and request a pick-up or drop-off if they have problems getting to the usual route. We may not be able to meet all requests, according to the time required, or distance from the normal route, but we will do our best.
