Bungay Camera Club
There was a good turnout of Bungay Camera Club members on the evening of Wednesday 12th July to view the latest competition entries.
The panels / tryptic competition had an `Open` theme and attracted 11 colour print panels, 8 mono print panels and 14 projected digital images, PDI`s, submitted by club members.
The independent judge for the evening was Mr Roy Essery (DPAGB & MPAGB) who travelled from Colchester where he is also a photography club member. This was his first visit to Bungay Club and the first time he had judged competitions for local clubs in the area.
During his introduction talk, Mr Essery explained what he would be looking for in the images to be judged. “A panel of 3 images or tryptic, should show a pleasing balance of colours, light and shade. The three images could either tell a story or show a theme or subject that should links them all together“.
Each printed panel and digital image was awarded a score out of 20. The scores given are added to a running total which will determine which club member finishes top of the competitions league table for colour or mono prints and PDI`s at the end of the year.
At the end of the evening, Bungay Club Chairman Mr Richard Roberts, gave thanks on behalf of the club and members for the constructive comments and critique given by the judge throughout the evening.
In reply Mr Essery said that “I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the images produced by the club members. The prints and the PDI`s had a great variety and interest about them“.
The club members who were awarded marks of 20 or 19 points were,
Colour Prints, 20 points awarded to, Rosie Pickering for `Dandelion. Burning Seed Head`. Sue Grief for `Good Reasons Not To Cut The Lawn`. Peter Nixon for `Sunset On Dartmoor` and Bob Taylor for `Darcie`.
Mono Prints, 20 points awarded to, Bob Taylor for `Dying Trades`.
PDI`s, 20 points awarded to, Adrian Muttitt for `The Shoot` and Richard Roberts for `Getting Ready For A Night Out`. Scoring 19 points, David Penrose for `Leaves Under A Lens`. Sue Grief for `Close Encounters Of A Wild Garden`. Andy Wilson for `Tristie, Ruby and Maple`.
