Halesworth Millennium Green Open, As Always

When so many places have been forced to close against their wishes, Halesworth is exceptionally lucky in having these more-than-50 acres of wonderful, rambling, varied, permanently open space where we can all go to stretch legs, ride, walk, play games, enjoy wildlife, take the dog. And even meet friends as long as everyone keeps to whatever the coronavirus rules happen to be.

The volunteers have been hard-working and lucky enough with the weather to finish the haymaking just before the November coronavirus rules came into being. As nothing else is desperately urgent we’re not running work-parties at the moment.  Nevertheless, volunteers are out and about on the Green most days but it’s a big place, so if you happen to see anything that might be a problem or need attention (a wobbly fence post, some brambles beginning to block a path) or get a sighting of something lovely or unexpected (birds, water creatures, people) you can get hold of the volunteers or send in a message or picture at the email below. We do try to post images we’re sent onto the website as long as you’re happy for us to do so, so tell us exactly where and when your images were taken.

Our website ‘Halesworth Millennium Green’ carries news of past and future events, photos, wildlife records, history and geology (email thegreen@halesworth.net or, only for really urgent things, ring 07811 630946).
