The Deben Players – Crushing Grapes
Come and join us at La Petite Chapelle, a vineyard in Southwest France. The sun is shining, the grapes are ripening, and we’re all set for an amusing week chez Jim and Maggie Hudson, the vineyard owners, who rent out their home every year to holidaymakers, or squatters as Jim fondly refers to them.
Tess, Martin and Sally are the first to arrive. The holiday was booked to celebrate Sally’s silver wedding anniversary but a couple of weeks ago her husband, Barry, texted her to say the marriage was over. Sally has decided the holiday must go ahead anyway. Tess and Martin are beginning to realise that this was not such a great idea.
Next to arrive are Ellie and Rob, a couple of honeymooners, who are staying in the annexe next door to the house. Opposites attract but are they really a perfect match?
Throw in Claude the French handyman, a visit from Maggie’s unpleasant relatives, a couple of winetasters who could change Maggie and Jim’s fortunes and Barry the wayward husband turning up unannounced, and the scene is set for an entertaining week.
Nibbles are included in the ticket price and there is a bar available.
