Harleston Community unites to salute our Armed Forces during Armed Forces Week
The Harleston Community has come together to show its support for our Armed Forces. Representatives of businesses and residents have been posing for photographs saluting the Armed Forces Week Flag. The special flags and other flags representing the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force are also being flown at multiple sites throughout the town centre. The photographs of saluting the flag will be shown on the Harleston Royal British Legion’s Facebook page.
Mr Terry Pegg, Secretary of the Harleston and District Branch of the Royal British Legion said: “There is a strong community appreciation of the role our armed forces play, especially in times of international tension and as we reflect on the 40th Anniversary of the Falklands Conflict. It is heartening to see the positive response of the community to mark its gratitude for the work of our service men and women on behalf of us all.”
Armed Forces Day is on Saturday 25th June.
