Community Cafe Goes From Strength to Strength

For the past 9 years the pop-up SMILE Community Cafe has successfully operated under the wings of sponsoring organisations – but now it finally emerges as a social enterprise in its own right. In July the cafe will be launching a brand new menu to celebrate its new community status.

“Im excited about the future possibilities for our community cafe and delighted that we have recently had our food hygiene practices once again rated as 5-star. In July the SMILE Cafe will be attending both the Grand Opening of the new Fromus Centre (July 9th) and the Saxmundham Community Festival (July 29th / 30th).”

Graham Ward, Volunteer Manager

“Having originally set up, and volunteered with the SMILE Cafe for 9 years, Im pleased to see it thriving. We have always aimed at providing a relaxing and friendly setting and serving quality food at affordable prices.” Don Tricker, Volunteer Manager

The pop-up cafe operates every Wednesday from 10am to 4pm at the new Fromus Centre, in Street Farm Road, Saxmundham.

We are now looking at several new volunteers for its management committee and volunteers to help with the cafe operations, including marketing (revamping our website and using social media) help in the state-of-the-art kitchen and interfacing with customers.
