Musical theatre star heads to towns’ theatre
One of the world’s famous leading actresses known for her major roles on Broadway and in London’s West End is coming to Beccles this Summer.
Actress Kerry Ellis known her roles in hit musicals such as Wicked, Les Miserables, Cats and Oliver to name a few, will be delivering a west-end masterclass for young people.
The theatre star, orginaly from Suffolk and who trained at Laine Theatre Arts will be delivering a workshop that features all aspects of musical theatre of acting, singing and dancing. Youngsters taking part will also be able to ask her questions at the end of the workshop about her experience and journey of theatre stardom.
Stowmarket-born Kerry Ellis is always busy. Not only does she manage to balance a theatrical and musical career, but she’s also been in the studio with her pal Queen guitarist Brian May and is about to hit the road singing with leading European Queen tribute band, Queen Machine in 2022.
Kerry said “I am really excited to be coming to Beccles and looking forward to meeting all the young people”.

He added “Young people in rural towns and communities such as Beccles, often don’t get to access experiences and learning opportunities like this, so it will be a great chance for young people across the area to join in and learn from one of the worlds favourite musical theatre stars”.
There is two workshops on offer, one for 6-12 year olds in the morning and then one for 13-18year olds in the afternoon of Thursday 19th August at Beccles Public Hall & Theatre.
