Bungay Camera Club’s ‘Annuals’ competition
The Club’s ‘Annuals’ competition was the last of 2020, held virtually due to the pandemic. Presentation of certificates and trophies would normally take place during the ‘fish and chip’ evening at Broome village hall.
Members were able to submit multiple images across the traditional print and digital categories, however all entries were in a digital format on this occasion.
A total of 253 images were then judged remotely by Frank Blyth CPAGB BRE1* and it’s with the Club’s thanks for his considerable effort, together with Club Competition Secretary Andy Wilson, that the competition was able to go ahead.
First Place in the colour ‘print’ category was awarded to Pat Jacobs, Second to Sue Grief and Highly Commended to Pat Jacobs and Holly Stranks. Pat Jacobs also achieved First Place and Highly Commended for images in the monochrome ‘print’ section, while Victor Schwanberg was awarded Second and Peter Nixon Highly Commended. A ‘Digital Projected Image’ by Pat Jacobs was placed First, Victor Schwanberg achieved Second, while Sue Grief and Peter Nixon were awarded Highly Commended.
The ‘Annuals’ competition also allows members to submit portfolios of photographs and Robert Taylor achieved First Place for a colour portfolio. Peter Nixon achieved Second, while Jerry Keeble and Andy Wilson were awarded Highly Commended. A monochrome portfolio by Holly Stranks was placed First, Victor Schwanberg’s Second, with Highly Commended to Pat Jacobs and Andy Wilson. Pat Jacobs’ portfolio of ‘Digital Projected Images’ achieved First Place, Jerry Keeble’s Second, while Victor Schwanberg and Andy Wilson were awarded Highly Commended.
The Club is planning a fuller programme for 2021, using Zoom to hold competitions and presentations. This programme will appear on the Club’s website www.bungaycameraclub.co.uk and there is a ‘contact’ form for event and membership enquiries. Images from the ‘Annuals’ competition are available to view in a website gallery.
