Big, Noisy, Messy!
New outdoor play area developed at Brampton C of E Primary School, with thanks to local community projects and businesses. During times like these, when our children’s social interaction and activities are more limited than ever by the current pandemic, it’s all the more important that they are able to have fun and play. With this in mind, we contacted a number of local community projects and businesses asking for their support to develop our outdoor play area which was in much need of renovation and improvement. Thanks to donations from local companies Spectra packaging and Colourwise and the hard work of parents and volunteers, our outdoor play area has now been redeveloped with an all-weather surface, tunnel and track for lots of physical activity, along with a mud kitchen, sandpit and stage for performances.
Executive headteacher Vicky Allen says “We are so thankful to all the parents, community groups and local businesses who have supported us in the development of our outdoor facilities. Our children now have more opportunities to explore, play and learn outside and most importantly have fun, living up to our outdoor play motto: Big, Noisy, Messy!” The crowning glory of the new play area is a recently installed large outdoor Story Chair, built and installed by the charitable organisation ‘Halesworth Men’s Shed’ so that children can sit and read outside. Alan Richardson from Men’s Shed says “We were pleased to be able to support the children in our community, and it gives us great pleasure to see the smiles on the faces of the children playing on and around the Story Chair!”
