Beccles Town Council, Beccles Neighbourhood Plan

The Beccles Neighbourhood Plan looks forward in time for the next 20 years or so. It’s a long-term plan that has been shaped by the people who live, work and play in Beccles and will influence the way our town develops.

It has information on the town, and sets out objectives for a wide range of issues such as social and recreational facilities, the future of medical services, and the proposed garden suburb just inside the southern bypass

It has been produced by a group of Beccles people working with Beccles Town Council.   In 2019 this working group asked people and organisations in the town what they thought of the Plan, and took into account their ideas.

Chris Greenhill, Chair of the group which drafted it says “ We’ve asked many people what would make the town a better place to live and work in, and now we want people to look at the Neighbourhood Plan and see if we’ve got it right.”

People’s views about what is right or wrong with the Neighbourhood Plan will go to an Independent Inspector who will decide whether it should be changed.  Then, probably in the summer, Beccles people will be asked in a referendum if they agree with the Plan

Copies of the Neighbourhood Plan are at Beccles Town Hall, The Walk, NR34 9AJ by appointment only. Please email admin@beccles.info or call 01502 712109 to book. Please note that the document will only be available for viewing between 10am and 12pm.
