Charity Christmas Card Shop Success

The Woodbridge Charity Christmas Card Shop has had another successful year, despite the Covid difficulties.

The shop is organised by Woodbridge 41Club, and proceeds are used to support local charities and other good causes. The shop is especially important this year as many charities are facing a significant drop in donations, due to Covid.

The 41 Club organiser, Roger Parker commented, “I am delighted that we have raised over £17,000 for a range of local and national charities, despite a four week lockdown. Over the past 28 years we have raised £922,000, a staggering amount! I am very grateful to all the shop volunteers who were willing to help in these difficult times. It is great that so many people continue to buy their cards and help these deserving causes.”

The shop stocked cards from over 20 different charities. This includes favourites such as RNLI, Marie Curie Cancer, Barnardos, Blue Cross and Amnesty. Additional local charities include St. Elizabeth Hospice, East Anglian Children’s Hospices, Somersham Ward, East Anglian Air Ambulance and Suffolk Wildlife Trust.
