Down on the Farm: Harvest Past
COME on down to the beautiful setting of Peak Hill Farm on Sunday 24th September for an autumn festival with a jam-packed programme for the whole family. Harvest Past promises to be a great day out with a range of activities, demonstrations and attractions to entertain while celebrating our farming heritage – and all in support of the Long Shop Museum in Leiston!
Take stock of engines and vehicles galore including vintage cars and motorbikes, small and classic engines, jeeps, beautifully painted gypsy caravans and a best tractor competition (not to mention the ‘Long Shop Girls’ on tractors! A variety of animals will be present including a South Devon calf and cow, goats, donkeys, Suffolk Punches and shire horses.
There will be a delicious array of refreshments both hot and hot, savoury and sweet, as well as a host of traditional games and activities for children. Suffolk’s very own Captain Mannering will be on hand with some Dad’s Army style entertainment and last but not least, live music from local performers to help the afternoon go with a swing. It promises to be a lovely occasion for those of all ages.
