Bungay's Joyful Voices
BUNGAY'S Joyful Voices community choir are looking forward to an exciting autumn term, having had a busy summer participating in the Bungay Summer Festival for the first time. A full day workshop with New England singers Windborne was the launchpad for the first concert of the New England group's 2016 UK tour. Both workshop and concert were sold out and, judging by the reaction of the audience, tickets for 2017 will sell like hot cakes! Joyful Voices also staged their own concert - Unfurled World - as part of the Festival which was well attended and much enjoyed.
Joyful Voices singers are now focussing on learning a new range of works from traditional English to World music - all songs are arranged for three voice parts and the group sings unaccompanied, learning all songs by ear and taught by established music director Mary Lovett. New members are always welcome, with a free taster session to encourage those who might like to dip a toe in the water but perhaps need a little encouragement! Joyful Voices meets on alternate Tuesdays at 7pm at Emmanuel Church, Bungay (November 1st, 15th, 29th). All are welcome to come along and give it a go.
